Kilikanoon are located in the Clare Valley in South Australia but because they have come to realise that the Clare is far too warm to produce sparkling wines with the subtlety of flavours that they want they have decided to travel all the way to the Loire Valley in Northern France to produce this wine. It is absolutely 100 percent made by Kilikanoon and yes it is one hundred percent from the Vouvray region making this arguably Australia first AOC wine from an Australian producer. Whilst all of this is very fancy, we love the wine because it has the crisp green apple acidity, rich texture on the palate and flavour of classic sparkling wines with complex yeasty characters. In other words its just a very good well-made wine.
