Laurel Bank was established by Kerry Carland in 1986 at Granton, just 20 minutes from the Hobart CBD. This win has dark berry fruits on the nose with some savoury cigar box, earthy notes. The palate is intense with black cherry and kirsch liquor characters, great length, beautifully balanced with a thread of fine tannins throughout. This is a big pinot from a great vintage in Tasmania. It has the structure to age well for 10+ years given correct cellaring conditions. A great match now, however, with duck or lamb.
