The Laurel Bank vineyard is located in the Derwent Valley and is regarded as being one of the finest producers of the Bordeaux varieties in Tasmania. In the past this wine has been rated by the likes of James Halliday as the Cabernet Merlot wine in Australia. There are very few Cabernet based wines from Tasmania that we could recommend, the climate is often just not suited to these varieties but this is by far the best Cabernet Merlot available and can easily give any mainland wine a run for its money.
